181 lbs.
down 16 lbs. from start
41 lbs. to my goal

So I still haven't hit the 170s yet.. but I have a feeling it'll happen really soon. I've been stuck at this weight for quite a bit. But I just got back on a consistent workout routine so I'm ready to kick butt! For the next two weeks, I am teaching a new hire training class at work so I am working 2pm-10:30pm Monday through Friday. I would hate working this shift all the time, but it's nice to switch things up. I've accomplished a lot today before work. I got myself to the gym at 9am. I went to the "Drills to Make You Sweat" class. Today, we did circuit training. I've been to the class one other time. I will say, it makes you sweat! I tend to do the low moderation of every single thing we do in that class. Anything that has planks, push ups, or anything similar kills me. I'm absolutely terrible at it. But that's exactly why I made myself go. I can't just not work on those things, because they're hard. I'll never get any better.

Yesterday, I decided to see how fast I could run a mile on the treadmill. Haven't timed myself running in a long time. I did it in about 10 1/2 minutes. And to be honest, that is better than I expected. My goal is to get down to a 9 minute mile! I'll be pretty darn pleased with myself if I can accomplish that.

Also, I signed up for my 2nd 5k for the year over the weekend. I'll be participating in the Graffiti Run in June and the Dirty Girl Mud Run in September! I have always been so scared at just the idea of doing a 5k. I'm still scared, but I can't back out now. I really am not a good runner. But I will be so happy to be able to say that I did it. And I think that both runs will have a fun atmosphere and won't feel so competitive.

I have had a hard time figuring out what to have for lunch at work. It's just hard to eat healthy. I don't like making my lunch. The cafeteria doesn't have too many healthy options, and what they do have is expensive. So over the weekend, I bought a bunch of different Lean Cuisines. Remember, I told you I'm picky so even finding ones that I liked were hard. But I have quite a few to try. Hopefully they are good! They are pretty pricey as well, but if they help me to get healthy and drop that weight, I'll be happy! OK, I have written a book now. I'm outta here!

181 lbs.
down 16 lbs. from start
41 lbs. to my goal

Once again, I'm blogging on my lunch break! Yesterday, I went to Cardio and Muscle with my friend Jenny. It was definitely more intense than Zumba. I'm afraid of any class that includes burpees and mountain climbers, and that was this class! lol I didn't do too terrible though. I did start feeling funny half way through as if I might pass out. That wasn't good. I'm assuming that was because of my lack of food prior to working out. No worries, I ate afterwards. So next time I work out right after work, I need to make sure I fit a good lunch in first! I'm hoping to go to Zumba tonight. There are two classes to choose from but I'll probably go to Dez's, because his is slightly more intense than Nancy's.

So I cannot wait until the scale gets to the "170s"! Losing a whole ten pounds always gets me re-motivated and pushes me to keep going. I'll be overjoyed when the scale finally tells me "160s" and probably poop my pants when it says "150s". lol! The scale hasn't told me that since sophomore year of high school. Isn't it funny how in high school we were so unhappy with our bodies but now years later, we would kill to have them?! It just goes to show you how much your mind controls your perception of what you look like.

I've been drinking these Coffee Protein shakes the last two days. I've been experimenting with the recipe to get it just right. I really like it. I really want to try Almond Milk soon. My boyfriend Phil went grocery shopping at Sam's last week and got THREE cartons of soy milk. So we have to use those before buying anymore milk. lol

Well, my belly is grumbling so perhaps I should hop down to the cafeteria on my lunch break and look for something healthy to munch on!

See ya later!

182 lbs.
down 15 lbs. from start
42 lbs. to my goal

So I am a copy cat! I noticed that my friend Jenny began a blog a few months ago. She mainly uses it to post things "health and fitness" related. I really liked the idea. It helps you feel more accountable and gives you an outlet to talk about these things without blowing up your MyFitnessPal newsfeed. So I am going to start blogging. I'm also hoping that it helps me to actually take a lunch break from work. We are required to take a lunch, but I have a hard time putting my work aside for 30 minutes. Perhaps this will give me something to do for those 30 minutes.

I have realized that my journey to getting in shape and being healthy is even more difficult than some people. Unfortunately, I was born with extra sensative taste buds or something, because I am extremely picky. I really don't like vegetables. The only ones I enjoy include potatoes, corn, and peas. I can force myself to have green beans and can eat carrots if they are cooked. But other than that, I really don't like any others. I'm not proud of it. I wish I could eat a salad for lunch or eat mainly veggies for dinner, but I just don't like them.

That being said, I don't necessarily watch carbs, fat, protein, and whatnot. I mainly just count calories. I'm trying to be more conscious of making sure I am getting my fruit/veggie servings for the day, but it's not easy. If I were to eliminate all unhealthy foods from my diet, I'd starve. So I just try to have smaller portions and eat slower and allow myself the chance to get full off of a smaller amount.

Well, my lunch time is up so I suppose I'll call it a day! I'm going to Cardio and Muscle today with Jenny right after work. We have never been to this class before so hopefully it is fun AND a good workout!

Bye! :D
